Before 2016 comes to an end, there are a few things you’ll want to do around the office that might help you embrace the New Year and all of the changes that it will offer.  I know that if I didn’t give myself a specific time to do this, it just wouldn’t get done so I do it between the holidays.  Think of this like Daylight Savings Time and changing the batteries in your smoke detectors. In order to advance in our careers we need to look back and reflect on what we’ve done.  Clean out the old and get ready for the new so we can focus on what direction we’d like to take.  Here are a five ideas to get you started and please comment below any helpful tips you might have.

  1. Wrap up any loose ends or current projects.

  2. Complete all of your end of month/year reports.

  3. Clean out your desk, old files and organize your emails.

  4. Update your voicemail message and email signature.

  5. Reflect on your accomplishments and set some realistic goals.
